The Opportunity

About Us

MaintainX is the world's leading mobile-first maintenance and operations platform for industrial and frontline environments. We're a modern IoT-enabled cloud-based tool for reliability, safety, and operations on physical equipment and facilities. Founded in 2018, we've grown to 640+ employees by solving a massive problem: frontline professionals were stuck using clipboards, paper, and outdated CMMS tools (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Think of us as "Asana for manufacturing." We're bringing modern, mobile-first workflows to an industry that's been stuck with clipboards and legacy software.

Our platform helps teams manage work orders, assets, parts inventory and purchase orders. We reduce unplanned downtime and boost production capacity for 13,000+ customers including Duracell, Shell, McDonald's, Univar Solutions, Titan America, Brenntag, Cintas, and Xylem. We've won by being much easier to use than legacy competitors, particularly on mobile where technicians actually work.

As MaintainX moves upmarket, enterprise customers need more than a system that creates work. They need a system that ensures every job is fully prepared before a technician picks up a wrench. The Work Planning capability is how MaintainX wins the enterprise.

Highlights

From 1 to 100

Maintenance Plans has shipped and proven customer value, but enterprise adoption is under 5%. Your job is to push past 50% and build the greenfield planning surfaces that don't exist yet.

Real Market Pull

Planning capability gaps are blocking enterprise deals today. A strong PM here has direct, visible impact on ARR.

Agentic AI, Today

You'll build the first generation of agentic planning experiences. Planners manually assemble work packages today. You're building the intelligent layer that automates it.

Candidate

Is This You?

A PM who has built complex workflow products where managing work through stages, statuses, and automated rules was the core challenge. Strong greenfield discovery muscle. Comfortable with enterprise customers and cross-team dependencies.

Your Mission

Build MaintainX's Work Planning capability into an enterprise differentiator. Ensure the right work exists in the right shape at the right time so that when it hits the schedule, a technician can execute without delay.

What you'll get to do

  • Own Preventive Maintenance -- The backbone of every maintenance operation and the system that generates the majority of customers' work. Define how PM programs work, how work flows through the system, and how this foundation evolves for enterprise organizations.
  • Own Request to Work Order -- The request portal, the planner's triage tools, and the workflow that ensures every job arrives at execution with the right plan, parts, and approvals. Technicians should spend their time turning wrenches, not chasing information.
  • Build Agentic Planning -- Auto-enrich work orders with historical job data, surface readiness gaps, forecast workload. Build the intelligent layer that helps planners shift from chasing information to making decisions.
  • Partner with Sales -- Become the internal expert on planning and readiness. Help close and expand large accounts by articulating how MaintainX's capabilities meet the needs of senior maintenance and operations leaders.

What we're looking for

  • 5-7 Years PM Experience -- Meaningful time building tools for complex operational workflows, ideally serving enterprise customers.
  • Workflow Product Depth -- You've built products where managing work through stages, statuses, and automated rules was the core challenge.
  • Cross-Team Navigation -- You make smart scope trade-offs on dependency-heavy features, define requirements across adjacent teams, and stay focused on downstream customer outcomes.
  • Greenfield Discovery -- You've defined problems from scratch, not just solved well-scoped ones. Established measurement baselines where none existed.
  • Commercial Mindset -- You can crisply and confidently articulate what you're building and why customers should care. Comfortable with enterprise buyers, not just internal stakeholders.

Bonus Points

  • Rules Engines or Automation Builders -- Making powerful configuration accessible to non-technical users was the core challenge.
  • Industrial, Field Service, or Operational Technology -- Domain experience is a strong signal.
  • AI/Agentic Product Experience -- The team is actively building intelligent automation into the planning workflow.
