The Opportunity

About Us

MaintainX is the IoT-enabled Work Intelligence platform behind frontline operations at 13,000+ industrial businesses including McDonald's, Shell, Duracell, and Cintas. Founded in 2018, MaintainX has grown to 640+ employees serving the 80% of the global workforce that doesn't sit at a desk.

Often described as "Asana for manufacturing," MaintainX is a cloud platform for reliability, safety, and operations on physical equipment and facilities. The product helps teams plan, schedule, and execute work across equipment, assets, and inventory. It has won the enterprise by being dramatically easier to use than legacy competitors, particularly on mobile where technicians actually work. Across the platform, MaintainX leverages AI and IoT sensor data to connect what's happening on equipment with what teams need to do about it.

As MaintainX moves upmarket, enterprise customers need more than a system that creates work. They need a system that ensures every job is fully prepared before a technician picks up a wrench. The Work Planning capability is how MaintainX wins the enterprise. It's a key pillar of the company's 2026 growth strategy.

Candidate

Is This You?

You're a workflow PM at heart. Stateful systems, request triage, configurable rules: that's your craft. Now you want to take it into greenfield agentic AI at enterprise scale.

Your Mission

Build MaintainX's Work Planning capability into an enterprise differentiator. Ensure the right work exists in the right shape at the right time and ship the first generation of agentic planning on top of it.

What you'll get to do

  • Build Agentic Planning: Auto-enrich work orders with historical job data, surface readiness gaps, forecast workload. Build the intelligent layer that helps planners shift from chasing information to making decisions.
  • Own the Triage Workflow: The planner's triage tools, the request portal that feeds them, and the workflow that ensures every job arrives at execution with the right plan, parts, and approvals. Technicians should spend their time turning wrenches, not chasing information.
  • Own the Rules Engine: The rules engine for preventive maintenance programs: the backbone of every maintenance operation and the system that generates the majority of customers' work. Define how PM programs work, how work flows through the system, and how this foundation evolves for enterprise organizations.
  • Sell to Enterprises: Be sales' product expert on planning and readiness. Help close and expand large accounts by articulating how MaintainX's capabilities meet the needs of senior maintenance and operations leaders.

What we're looking for

  • 5-7 Years PM Experience: Meaningful time building tools for complex operational workflows, ideally serving enterprise customers.
  • Workflow Product Depth: You've built products where managing work through stages, statuses, and automated rules was the core challenge.
  • Greenfield Discovery: You've defined problems from scratch, not just solved well-scoped ones. Established measurement baselines where none existed.
  • Commercial Mindset: You can crisply and confidently articulate what you're building and why customers should care. Comfortable with enterprise buyers, not just internal stakeholders.
  • Cross-Team Navigation: You make smart scope trade-offs on dependency-heavy features, define requirements across adjacent teams, and stay focused on downstream customer outcomes.

Bonus Points

  • Rules Engines or Automation Builders: Making powerful configuration accessible to non-technical users was the core challenge.
  • Industrial, Field Service, or Operational Technology: Domain experience is a strong signal.
  • AI/Agentic Product Experience: The team is actively building intelligent automation into the planning workflow.
